No one home
We find many snails, and especially many large Burgundy snails and beautiful but ordinary garden snails. I know nothing about snails, but now that I meet them time and time again I started reading up about them and they are fascinating. Most snails we find have already closed their house with a little lime lid, ready for the coming winter. But sometimes you find such a beautiful house completely intact , completely empty.

Niemand thuis
We vinden veel slakken, vooral veel grote wijngaardslakken
en prachtige gewone tuinslakken. Ik weet helemaal niets van slakken, maar nu ik
ze zo vaak ontmoet ben ik er maar eens over gaan lezen en ze zijn fascinerend. De meeste slakken die we vinden hebben hun
huisje al dicht gedaan met een klein kalk dekseltje klaar voor de komende
winter. Maar soms vind je zo’n prachtig huisje
helemaal heel, helemaal leeg.

Nous trouvons beaucoup d'escargots, et surtout beaucoup de grands escargots de Bourgogne et les L'escargot des bois. Je ne sais rien à propos des escargots, mais maintenant que je les rencontre maintes et maintes fois j'ai commencé à lire jusqu'à leur sujet et ils sont fascinants. La plupart des escargots, nous trouvons ont déjà fermé leur maison avec un petit couvercle de la chaux, prêt pour l'hiver prochain. Mais parfois vous ne trouverez une belle maison complètement intacts, complètement vide.
